Deputies still looking for Burger King parking lot thief

Lee County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a robbery suspect who held a man up at gunpoint last week in a Burger King parking lot, then ditched the gun in a toilet tank in another restaurant, authorities said.

The assailant then sprinted across the freeway into a fast-food restaurant on St. Mary’s Road, where he was arrested this morning in its walk-in freezer.

Another passenger, Vietnam War veteran Fred Blake, 56, summed it up: “That’s crazy, man.”
