Introducing: The CVS Chocolate Diet!

Reader Greg sends the above photo of his local CVS. Now there's a diet....or perhaps just a helpful suggestion for those shoppers who are often drawn to this particular aisle.—MEGHANN MARCO

This is a test using rich text formatting and html links. It's the generic "company" ad that should appear on all posts with the Company category if they don't have an ad attached to a specific company.

This is completely non-Consumerist worthy. You can clearly see that the WOW Lose weight sign is on the NEXT display over. Just because you can see a sign from one display to the next, or position it so with a camera, does not mean that sign is attached to that particular display. Look at the left edge of the chocolate display, beige metal side of the floor unit, and beyond it is a grey plastic mount on a totally different display island.

I think you left your sense of humor in the next aisle over.

At our local Sports Authority, they've got a stand that is labled "Nutrition" and it's full of chocolate and candy. However, the other side of the rack has all the sports bars (look up "Nutrition" in the Consumerist flickr pool).

Looking at the image in full size on the flickr page:

It looks like it's attached to the chocolate display. You can see the backs of some products on the other side of the shelves behind the sign, so there's no aisle space between the chocolates and the sign, at least not that I can tell.

Mr. Goodbar just HAS to be good for you, right?

I can assure you the sign was attached to the top of the chocolate display. The funniest thing is that they've recently moved the display from a different part of the store, sign and all.

Maybe they mean you will lose weight after you take the money out of your pocket to buy the candy.

Don't forget...you can get those reduced calorie Cadbury eggs for 50% off at most CVS stores today.

LOL. Sadly, I was at my local CVS this morning, stocking up on 50%-off bags of Easter peanut-butter M&Ms and Russell Stover strawberry creme eggs. Can't wait to start losing those pounds now.

they probably mean lose the weight of the cash you're carrying around. ;p
