Can I be the CEO of Radio Shack next? Damn! Talk about an easy job, eh? This Day guy gives everyone the impression of being clueless about Radio Shack and even bad-mouths the business and it's products and even worst, it's customers. Yet, he still has the nice, big, and cushy, high-paying job for doing what? No one knows. He doesn't know. It's like, just water that plant every once in a while and it will pretty much take care of itself.
Radio Shacks are the payday loan centers of electronics stores.
PLEASE tell me you Radio Shack people are being sarcastic. The news source is The Onion - one of the most widely known satirical news sources in the US, if not the world. Hell, I was in NYC a couple of weeks ago, and their top headline was about Christ getting in shape for the second coming on 2 Aug.
If you all believe ANYTHING that paper says as fact, I fear what you all believe as consumers and citizens ...

So then the CEO was joking? I really do hope he was and if so, wow! Call me stuck up but I don't think I'd ever poke fun at my customers. Or was the Onion completely misquoting the CEO? I'm not familiar with the Onion.

well julian day is the ceo, & while it is a fictitious interview, it's not far from the truth. those guys in fort worth are tearing that company apart.
a little bird told me that the margin on button cell batteries (for example #357/76 - the hottest selling item in many stores) increased from ~$3.07 two years ago to ~$4.61 as of january 1st.
there's good deals to be found there on low-margin items, just remember that stuff like the $49.99 150W power inverter (margin: ~$43.43) & the $99.99 hdmi cables (margin: ~$97.60) pays for it.
& don't be a moron - they screw you on extended warranties. just say no!
Man, I remember when I was a kid and Radio Shack was an electronics geek's paradise! I wasn't lucky enough to live in a place with a real electronics/surplus store, so all my geek fantasies centered on Radio Shack. They had a whole wall that was nothing but components. Now they have a few drawers full of capacitors, resistors, switches and connectors, and precious little else. They're nothing but resellers of cell phone service and satellite TV these days. Oh, how the mighty have fallen...

It's good to know the CEO of Radioshack is just as clueless as I am about why the hell they're still open.
