Above And Beyond: Here's Looking At You, Casablanca Fan Company
Arthur purchased a Casablanca ceiling fan over two decades ago. This is his story.
Around 1980 or 1981 I bought a Casablanca ceiling fan. I've been happy with it's performance. A couple of weeks ago the 4 way switch (that turns the lights and fan on and off) broke. I went to the Casablanca web page but couldn't find my model fan listed so I couldn't order the part I needed. I called their customer service line. The lady was dismayed that I had THAT model fan since they no longer had the electronic replacement parts in stock except for the on/off switch. "But all I need is the on/off switch.", I said. "Ok, I'll send it right out. No charge. (!)". 2 or 3 days later I got the switch and the ceiling fan is working again. There is nothing about Arthur's story we don't love. The quick service, the free replacement, the fan older than us that is still going strong. Casablanca Fan Company, we congratulate you. — CAREY GREENBERG-BERGER
Cheers for Casablanca!

Wow, 27 years and the fan is still kicking? And they sent him the switch for free? It doesn't get any better than that.
Hey, if the fan works and it ain't broke, don't replace it. I'll be ecstatic if all my Emerson fans that I put in 2 years ago are all still kicking in 2032. In fact, I'll be happy if I'm still kicking in 2032!
Casablanca fans DO hold up that well. The ones in my old house were still spinning away after 22 years, the original Hunter fan still spinning after 32 years, when I was there for a recent dinner party. The oldest working Hunter fans I've seen are at least 40 years old and still working.
Then again, both the top-of-line Casablanca & Hunter fans weigh nearly 50 lbs and cost $300+. You get what you pay for.
@FLConsumer: Well, maybe most of them do. But it was a Casablanca that started gyrating wildly one day before flying of its post and crash-landing on my coffee table...
Chances are that if it was still spinning when it was on the way down, the problem was with the blades (and installation if it fell), not the fan motor, which is what usually dies in the cheap Chinese imports.
Another thing I've noticed (and I DO mean notice, living in Florida) is that the higher quality fans move more air & make less noise.
Too Bad the Company doesn't service all their customers the same way. Bought the Wilderness Fan a little over a year ago, the control module or something of that nature in the fan failed one year later. I was told the parts were on back order and I would have to wait. Two months later when parts were supposed to have arrived I called them and was told the parts were on back order for another month. They finally agreed to send me a new fan and now the service repair rep decided to skip our scheduled appointment and did not have the courteously to call to inform us. With service like this it's amazing this company is still in business.

Wait--
Doesn't Home Depot sell this brand?
That's unpossible! I call April Fool's Shenanigans!
/glad to see a few companies still understand the real value of the customer
