Your New Time Warner DVR Comes With Porn!

While some of us might consider it “added value” to receive a Time Warner DVR that was already 20% full of the porn that we would eventually be collecting anyway, some people have children and/or don’t feel like watching “Hole Diggers 2.” Shocking, we know. John writes:

Having been on a 3 week waiting list for Time Warner Cables – HighDef DVR box, it was finally installed yesterday. I turned it on and saw that it worked great. I lave to run the weekend errands and give my wife the remote control and the manual to setup her programs for recording. My wife and my two nieces (ages 3 and 8) sit down to learn how to record DisneyTV shows. My wife pushes the green LIST button on the remote control and up comes the previous owners recorded content; 20% full of all adult content. As my wife tries to figure out how to get out of the menu mode, Hole Diggers – Part 2 starts playing. Into the other room go the kids, off goes the TV and here comes an angry phone call to me by my wife about what am I going to do about this… My question is it’s not what I am going to do but what should Time Warner Cable do?

We suggest calling Time Warner and asking what they can do for you in this situation. We’re sure they’ll think of something. For the rest of you, check any “new” electronics for porn before showing them to your children. You never know who had that box before you did. —MEGHANN MARCO
