Tax Tip: Cell Phones Qualify For Telephone Excise Tax Refund
Blogger Clever Dude reminds us that the telephone excise tax refund applies to cell phones as well as land lines. From the IRS:
You may be one of the nearly 160 million phone customers who can request a refund of the 3% federal excise tax paid on long-distance and bundled phone service billed after Feb. 28, 2003 and before Aug. 1, 2006. Federal long-distance excise taxes paid on cell phone, land line, fax, Internet phone service and bundled service all qualify for the refund. For more information about the telephone excise tax refund, click here.

Yes, well you may feel like you're getting jipped out of credit because you're not a multi-million dollar corporation, because those are subject to the refund as well. So, if you're not going to go for it yourself, you might as well tell your company about it.
Free money is free money.
The other thing is that, I know it sounds cliche, but every dollar does count. I actually work for a non-profit org that is working with www.refundsforgood.org to convince people to donate their free money to some organization that will put it to good use.
It's easy to get the money back as well. The link I put above shows everything.

*NOW* you tell me!
