Here’s the letter your employer gets if you tell the IRS that the bastards forgot to send you your W-2, just for kicks.
We were disappointed that the fine was only $50, but apparently that was enough to spur our old employer into action.

PREVIOUSLY: Get Missing W-2s By Siccing IRS On Your Employer

I like how the IRS rats out the helpless employee. There ought to be an option where the IRS knows whose W-2 is missing but threatens the company to file ALL of its W-2s lest it get into trouble.
Ben, I don’t know why you bothered to redact all the employer information. You already told us the company in question was Ass Clown Circus, Incorporated.
@timmus: It is possible that the employer tried to send out a W-2 only to have it returned because the former employee changed addresses. It would be fruitless to receive a letter and not know who the former employee was or where to send the W2.
I know that these work great because I simply threatened to contact the IRS for one of my former employers and he had it to me in a few days. He is just lazy and procrastinates. I am, however, suprised how low the fine was but then I realized for larger companies, it could really add up quick. Thanks for showing us, was curious how they were worded.
those teeth aren’t very sharp. i mean, just getting a letter with IRS on the outside is enough to send shivers up & down anyone’s spine, but you’d think they’d at least enclose a picture of some g-men waving & put a little “…or else” at the bottom.
