Desks belonging to Ken Lay and Jeffrey Skilling are up for auction on eBay with the proceeds going to help a Houston-area animal charity. From CNNMoney:
Lay and Skilling, who also served as CEO, were convicted in May 2006 for their role in the accounting fraud that led to the collapse of Enron in 2001. The bankruptcy erased billions in investors’ money and wiped out the pensions of thousands of Enron employees.
The custom-made desks with “an elegant Makore Pommelle veneer” have a minimum bid of $25,000 each, which so far has not been met. The auction began Friday and runs for 10 days.
Skilling is currently serving a 24- year prison term. Lay passed away last July. The desks were donated by the firm that bought Enron’s former headquarters.—MEGHANN MARCO

Just what I want.
Hmm. Not wanting to stop a charity from making a buck. But considering that the Enron employees were shafted so bad I would suggest that they are a better deserving charity for those proceeds.
Cha Ching! I’ve always wanted a desk with the button that activates the trap door to the alligator pit! “Eeeexceleeent”
That’s bad business mojo right there.
i’ll buy skilling’s on the condition that i get a chance to drop it on his head.
I know that on ebay people will buy anything, but isn’t this hype a few years too late?
I bet nobody bids 25k, and I bet they end up selling to the highest bidder, for far less money.
Those desks are just pure evil, I agree with JohnMc, the employees who lost their pensions are more deserving of any profits made out of the leftovers of Enron.
I wouldn’t pay 25,000 to be haunted by the ghost of Ken Lay… unless he told me of a secret compartment that held papers for his secret off shore accounts.
Animal charity? I love animals but shouldn’t this money be going to the fucked ex-Enron employees charity?
Maybe they should give the desks to the retirees who’ll be out on the street without pensions thanks to those people. Then at least they’ll have some shelter.
Lay allegedly passed away last July. He may be in a third-world country with no extradition treaty, though.
