Reply with Commenter Name Greasemonkey script

Here's a neat Firefox-only browser add-on to add an extra bit of functionality to the Consumerist comments. "Reply By Commenter Name" puts [reply by name] next to everyone's comments. When you click on it, @ theirname: appears in your comments box, linked directly to their original comment. Neat!

Install Greasemonkey (if you haven't already)
Install Reply to Commenter User Script
(You may need to restart Firefox after this).

This script was whipped up by Gina Trapani at Lifehacker and tweaked by Ali Karbassi, mad props to them.

Look at me I'm commenting.

Actually, this user script should work with Opera, which has native user script support. Furthermore, it is not necessary to restart Firefox after installing a new user script. Great script though.

@24fan24: I think the script would have to be ported for IE first, but that's a great idea and somebody out there more talented than I should do it.

You misspelled "misspelled", I'll never trust your comments again.

Kidding. I always trust your comments.

@ Ben Popken

Yea your right, it would have to be ported over to IE, but I'm pretty sure the Greasemonkey scripts work in Opera without any modification.

how hard would it be for gawker media to get threaded comments? dunno about you guys, but reading reddit or slashdot comments is about 100x easier than long un-threaded boards.

@Ben Popken: You misspelled "misspelled." I will never trust you're comments again.

(Actually, this looks like a neat feature -- I'll install it once I get home.)

On the Mac version of Firefox, you can go to Preferences, then Advanced, and there's a check box where you can check off to spell check as you type. It doesn't automatically correct the text but underlines it in red, similar to MS Word. This is built-in and not an extension.

I don't know. Personally I like being techie and advanced and just using good old <blockquote>. Makes life easier.

@Xkeeper: Why didn't you then? :P

BTW I didn't have to reset Fixfox to install the plugin.

Why didn't you then? :P
I had no reason to at that point :P
