According to presidential proclamation, this week is Consumer Protection Week! From the White House:
During National Consumer Protection Week, citizens are urged to learn more about the risks of fraud and identity theft and take precautions to protect themselves from these crimes.

Er, this should be an all-year thing. In fact if the government was half serious about minimizing identity theft, they'd mandate free access to our own credit report ALL THE TIME, not just a ceremonial inspection once a year.
Irony at its finest. Another wonderful example of "we're not going to do anything about this problem, so we'll have an 'awareness week' about it."
So...how about we hold our own 'awareness week' -- a freedom protection week during which citizens are urged to learn more about:
+ the many frauds perpetrated on them by their elected officials and
+ the selling out of their reputation and economic strength to special interests and foreign goverments through abusive (to US citizens) trade policies and immigration non-enforcement and
+ how to take proactive steps to put a stop to these crimes.





Avoiding fraud, is that anything like not being taken in by faulty intelligence?
