ALthough the quality of the JVC camera there is pretty good, JVC have STILL not fixed their CCD failure since 2003. Get the extended warranty with it imo. I have had that model, and the Environ series and both have died randomly about a year after purchase (the environ died after only 8 months!)

I was just browsing my usual deal sites and I have never heard of Bargainist. Seems like a great site, thanks.

Gives me an idea, we could all share the sites we go to for deals. Maybe even make it's own post out of it?

Even better than scanning each and every daily site - get an rss reader and find the sites that offer feeds. The feed opens as a little dropdown list with the daily deal site and their current item; so you can skip the moose-flavored socks and other not-useful items.

My firefox has about 20 rss feeds up for deal sites. Here are my favorites w/ feeds. Some are redundant, but again the rss makes it easy to ignore the ones you already saw.

Bargainjack.com - has a top 21 items as well as collates a list of the daily deal sites

woot.com - this is a one-item-a-day site, but they started a lot of the mess, have great items, and the descriptions are very funny.

zerodaydeals.com - another collector of daily deal sites.

fatwallet.com - very good with online as well as real store deals.

slickdeals.net - similar style to fatwallet, but usually has a different set of specials.

Enjoy!

I also use fatwallet and slickdeals. But I find its better to browse the forums than just the front page. Besides a lot of the great stuff never makes the front page. It's dead by then.

Other sites I frequent are:

http://stealdeals.net/

http://techdeals.net/

http://techbargains.com/

http://www.bensbargains.net/

I recently just found - http://www.modoshi.com/
