Discounts Just For Using Your Credit Card
Blueprint for Financial Prosperity reminds us that credit cards carry more discounts than we realize. Visa, MasterCard, and American Express all offer discounts for cardholders. Discover's discounts are limited to business accounts.
If you have more than one card, shop around for the ideal discount. Both Visa and MasterCard offer savings at ACE Hardware; Visa's is $15 off a $75 purchase and free shipping, while MasterCard offers $10 off a $50 purchase, but no free shipping. If you are hungry, American Express offers discounts at restaurants.

I use the Visa/Quizno's discount quite frequently. $2 off a sandwich brings the local Quiznos prices closer to reality.
Also, on really large projects (IE: major construction, corporate purchases), you might actually get the contractor to give you a discount to use the CC instead checks & purchase orders. That way the company gets their money immediately rather than waiting for you to cut 'em a check.
Discover has some cardholder discounts right now, too -- if you like shopping online. 5-20% cashback at places like Target.com and FTD.com. You have to use their "ShopDiscover" pages as a starting point though.
Don't talk ill of Quizno's. They have their own mafia. Anytime I mention them on my blog, I get loads of hits.
Very interesting stuff. I had no idea. I'll never pay full price again :) haha.
