Those headphones on Woot barely lasted an hour… =(
should i take the plunge and get that canon? it seems like a really good deal but i have the 5mp version. thoughts?
I myself sprung on the Canon SD600 about four months ago, as my first digital camera purchase. As such I don’t have much to compare it against, but I also got it for $200 and consider it a great purchase.
The camera tends to take good pictures and has a decent amount of options and manual control for a point and shoot in the price range. The lense seems pretty good, I’ve noticed some trouble with light blooms in low light situations. The button layout is good, the size and weight are good, battery life seems pretty good.
I’d recommend searching for some info first, you’ll be able to find deals like this in the future if you miss out on this one. Maybe look for comparisons between your camera and the 600, look through Flickr for photos shot on either model, and read some reviews. I know some reviews I read while shopping around pointed towards many people prefering older models of Canon point and shoot cameras for their lenses, which are apparently declining in quality, I believe the SD400 family was very popular in this regard. I myself just didn’t want something that “bulky.”
@billybastion: Something that I discovered recently is you can search photos by camera type on Flickr. This gives you some idea what they’re capable of. Here’s the results for the SD600.
@Ben Popken: wow thats awesome, i didnt know you could do that on flckr. thanks for the tip.
