Now With Nesting! Reader's Greasemonkey Script Improves Reply To This Comment

Now you can see commenter replies nested inside each other, thanks to a phat Greasemonkey script by reader Yogurt Earl.

Requires Firefox and Greasemonkey.

Give it a whirl. It really makes commenting easier, we find. And if you don’t agree, you can always turn it off. — BEN POPKEN

This is a test! Of the Emergency Broadcast System!

    @Scazza: Nesting, nesting, 1, 2, 3.

DO you have to use the stupid @ in order for it to work, because if you do, it’s totally not worth it! ;-)

    Ben Popken – Testes, Testes. 1, 2, 3?

  6. Mr. Gunn says:

@Mr. Gunn: I guess you do.

    fyi opera users:

    does not work under opera.

  8. @micturatedupon: Lame. Why does nobody ever care about us opera users? Its only the most diverse browser available. How many devices can run firefox or ie? Oh well, I wasnt planning on utilizing the nesting feature anyway. I have a difficult time trying to read the small print from my television screen when I view the consumerist with my Wii.

  9. Crim Law Geek says:

Doesn’t seem to work in Safari either. :-(

  10. Crim Law Geek says:

Doesn’t work under Safari, and the comment system seems borked :-(

  11. I have also noticed that the site is locking up during loading and ie will not respond until the site finishes loading. This is from work however and we have had a spotty connection so it might just be on my end.

Is the Greasemonkey thing a way to beta test new features? I hope so, because it is totally stupid to think that any significant number of users will have a Firefox/Greasemonkey installation to use this….

  13. bndocksnt says:

@knave77: I think you underestimate how many consumerists run well equipped machines

  14. bndocksnt says:

@bndocksnt: Ahh, I’ve nested inside myself. So nice…

  15. CaptainRoin says:

@knave77: greasemonkey is teh shizzle. if you don’t have it you should. there are so many great scripts. plus you can easily customize most of them to do what you want. no more ads, no more wacky colored websites, nested comments, woo hoo!
