Why Walmart.com Sells Japanese Cartoon Porn

Here’s the real deal on why there was Japaneses cartoon porn on Walmart.com, much of it of the homosexual male, or, as its known to connoisseurs,”yaoi” variety.

Walmart imports huge databases of books from wholesalers. This database included all the Diamond Book Distributors titles. When someone orders from Walmart, the wholesaler gets the books from Diamond and sends them to the Walmart fulfillment place.

According to Ku-Yu Liang of of Diamond Book Distributors, “There are probably thousands of titles in that database that could potentially offend Wal-Mart’s management — they just don’t have any idea of what’s there.”

By the by, we asked for a response from Target, which sold some of the same titles, and they never responded because they’re too busy buying Coach counterfeits in bulk. — BEN POPKEN

I’m kind of curious as to what the point of these “Walmart sells cartoon porti” post is. Unless Consumerist is saying that Walmart should not sell cartoon porn these posts would seem to be counter productive because they will only lead Walmart to try and find a way to fix the system that allows this to happen.

Japanese adult titles != Nazi shirts

Every time I see one of these posts I’m vaguely disturbed, like maybe they’re gonna go back and revise homophobic lawn care guy and talk about what great a service he’s offering.

Because Wally world is well known to censor just about everything they sell. This is the same store who wont sell some mens magazines despite them NOT showing blatant tits and ass in the US (unlike say the British versions of said magazines with their uncovered breast covers)

They have even prevented classic novels from being sold in stores because of sexual undertones, or anti-christian imagery.
