Meet The Douchebags Behind The Sony PSP Flog
We found the Myspace profiles for most of the the marketing douchebags who appear on the PSP flog, pretending that they are kids who want their parents to buy them a PSP for Christmas.
Take a good look because we bet five dollars the whole site is gone by the weekend. The videos were already yanked from YouTube.
Why are we posting their Myspace profiles? Because we hate liars. Also, as a warning: kids, don't drop out of B-school or J-school. Get an English degree and learn how to tell compelling stories before you inflict another viral pile on the world.

• "Jeremy" - Real name: Jeremy. Plays guitars in AVEX. Fought with beard over who got to lead the band.
• The Band: AVEX. Myspace page. Selling out is the hardest part.
• Tomiwa - Myspace page. "Who I'd like to meet: the Creative Directors at Weiden and Kennedy." Sorry kid, your recent availability notwithstanding, W&K is closed to hacks.
• Jessie - Myspace page. "Who I'd like to meet: Ashton Kutcher." He only dates cougars, and Demi is already with child.

This is a test using rich text formatting and html links. It's the generic "company" ad that should appear on all posts with the Company category if they don't have an ad attached to a specific company.

OMG, I just took a look at Greg Meyerkord's web site. His "blog" is actually...no kidding...mostly about sewage. Life imitates art. Or vice-versa. *gag*
ASIDE re. memes>>
...Positive - "Pwn life" or something very similar was a contender for a slogan contest held by Lifehacker (rocks!).
...Negative - I saw a bumper sticker the other day that read "My gamer pwns your honor student." (This was on a PoS beater mobile, natch.)
It's funny that in their most recent post on the flog, they admit to everything very tongue-in-cheek-- but weirder is that they actually sign their name as Sony and not Zipatoni.
I'm surprised Sony wouldn't hang those guys out to dry. "Uh don't paste our name with that mess, this was YOUR dumbass idea."
This hack agency also did a flog last year in St. Louis concerning the theft of a couple of large Cardinals (birds, not Super Archbishops) from a billboard (leased by...... Zipatoni). Except the figures were never installed and QED, never stolen. It got quite a bit of local press when the stunt^h^h^h^h^h promotional opportunity was exposed.
Hey Mr. Meyerkord, I believe your great grandfather had a US Navy ship (DE-1085) named for him. What would he think of you working at a place that does stupid things like this?
The top item on the site ATM:
"Busted. Nailed. Snagged. As many of you have figured out (maybe our speech was a little too funky fresh???), Peter isn't a real hip-hop maven and this site was actually developed by Sony. Guess we were trying to be just a little too clever. From this point forward, we will just stick to making cool products, and use this site to give you nothing but the facts on the PSP.
Sony Computer Entertainment America"

"Don't just wear it, pwn it!" Could become an internet meme just because it is that bad. But the winner for internet meme 2006 is obviously "Snakes on a Plane!"
