Since nobody should be allowed to move on from their mistakes, we’re holding a knife fight to see who had the “best” flog of 2006. We are pleased to announce… The Floggies.
We will mail the winning company a magnificent trophy. For now, we’re thinking of taking a dump in a box and spray painting it gold.
For your consideration….
McDonald’s, for 4Railroads and Mcdmillionwinner
Walmart, for Walmarting Across America
Sony, for All I Want For Xmas Is A PSP
Submit your nominations in the comments or tips@consumerist.com. Winners will be decided by reader vote next week. — BEN POPKEN

I would vote for Wal-Mart on this one…just because I was a department manager at a Wal-Mart…and any possitive spin on that company is clealry the Devil’s work.
The poo-in-a-box idea is not a bad one, but your packaging would have to be good or the post office might become angry with you.
There are companies that’ll “bronze” pretty much anything, including cowpats, but you obviously don’t want to pay that much.
The answer, of course, is right there in the picture you’ve chosen for this post – it looks not unlike the Japanese “Unchikun” cutesy-poo (see what I did there?) to me, and there are plenty of those products on sale in the usual Japan-o-novelty places.
The “lucky poo” idea is not a new thing, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding a nice big shiny gold one to send to your lucky winners.
It’s got to be the PSP flog, if only for the sheer insanity of it all.
This poo is pretty cool too. Thinking about using it. It looks way better than something that would come out of my butt, and it’s only $2.71.
I gotta go with Sony on this one. That could actually kill a brand.
Not sure it’s still functioning, but http://pooinabox.com/ could be helpful when the winner is chosen…
Ben:
I’m not sure which is worse: The “poo” character or its rhyming name “Lucky Crap Cell Phone Strap.”
Poo for the winner. Maybe a plaque or certificate they can hang up.
Lets not forget consolation prizes for the runners up. I vote for poo painted gold.
Poo in gold, silver, and bronze?
“floggies” as a name is already taken…by Finnish bloggers, no less:

Don’t forget to include a cane or a whip in the box so that they can have fun flogging their poo all over again.
