I got that Borders 40% off coupon in my e-mail today, which I plan to use for a $25 book which I want for a $15 gift exchange. Although I consider myself a pretty smart girl, I don’t understand the coupon. Do I have to buy an additional purchase of $20, does my total purchase before I use the coupon have to be $20 or does my total after I use the coupon have to be $20?

I got a 2GB USB drive yesterday for $38.86 at Target. They must have seen that Amazon deal.

Actually, I just got a $20 golf driver on Amazon. Wonder if it’s going to suck. But for $20, you can’t pass up a driver, which usually goes for a lot more than that at Sports Authority.

eeebee, your total purchase, before the coupon has to be 20 dollars. So a $25 book counts and you will be able to get it 40% off.

And, if anyone wants additional savings, if you are a Border’s Rewards member and have a Personal Shopping Day, then you can combine the two to get almost 50% off. (Since the extra 10% comes after the 40% off, it’s really more like 48%.)

eebee – that just means the total of your purchase before tax and discount has to add up to $20. So all you have to do is pick up something that’s marked $20 and you’re good to go (and at $12, still under your $15 limit).

Wow, I just snapped up the Kitchenaid. Been looking for one of those.

Thanks, DCDeals and spinachdip. I just wasn’t sure if it had to be $20 after the coupon was applied. Wouldn’t be a problem as I can always find something to buy at Borders.
