I always take great satisfaction in lolling at home the day after Thanksgiving, eating leftovers and watching movies with the kids and contemplating my superiority over all the idiot shoppers who are filling the mall parking garages or who stood in lines all night just to fight over a few discounted goodies.

But, honestly, some of these Black Friday previews are nudging me toward the Dark Side. Help me, Obi-Wan!

ElizabethD: If you want to emulate the experience, stand around in a pen of cows for several hours out in the cold. Then, have someone open the pen letting you and the cows out into the field.

They will drop (from their butts) the equivalent quality of the merchandise that most retailers offer as "door busters".

Also, think of the farmer and how many hands he has to wake up earlier then usual to deal with these mindless cattle, and help him move them from one pen to another 5 hours before he normally gets up.

Elizabeth, I feel the same way! I am this/close to re-charging my video camera, waking up at 3 am, and hitting Best Buy on Black Friday.

Luckily, my lazy side will kick in once Thursday night rolls around.

I went out on black friday once. I went to best buy and bought a dvd/vhs combo for my parents. Walked in, picked it up off a stack, waited in line for maybe 5 minutes tops, and was out the door. I was surprised.
