I'm sorry, but "Bengalooru Torpedo" just doesn't have the same ring.
Electoral, you are definitely correct - that is exactly why they change the names. It is not due to being afraid of perjoratives in the business world. (like the outsourcers care about that!)

My understanding was that the name changes were due to a desire to abandon the names given under colonial rule in favor of historic designations.
