Easily File FTC Complaints
Registering an official gripe against a company need not involve a trip to the post office. The Federal Trade Commission has an online form you can use, too.
While the FTC does not resolve individual complaints, filing a complaint can be an important first step in making a public record of company misdeeds.
Moreover, the threat of making such a complaint, and then providing documentation of it, can be a bit of a stick to wave over a company's head for consumers involved in protracted customer service battles.

The important thing to understand about making a complaint to the FTC is to post legally relevant details.
For example, if you are complaining about a franchise, business opportunity, or distributorship fraud, then you should stick with describing what disclosure documents you received, when you received them, and what earnings claims were made to you.
Check the FTC site for specific examples of the fraud that you are reporting.
Remember that the FTC is not going to get your money back for you in general, nor is anyone likely to serve jail time as the result of your complaint.

Don't forget your state Attorney General's office. They won't resolve your individual complaint (although they might mediate it), but the information in complaints is what triggers lawsuits. It will scare a business more than the BBB.
