Verizon ChatDroid Reluctant, Cagey

Crunchgear has a nifty transcript of a conversation a reader of theirs had with Verizon. This person was trying to figure out various means by which they could get the new Motorola KRZR (which is like the RZR, except crazy).

Whoever was on the other end of the Ethernet cable proved guarded and stilted in their encounter, going so far as to disconnect without even a cursory, "Is there anything else I can help you with today?" Whenever we read that line, we always imagine the customer service rep sighing deeply as they watch their death clock call time minutes tick upwards.

Even if you don't find the exchange that revelatory, at least there's a big LEGO TRON picture along with the post.

"When Verizon Chatbots Attack" [CrunchGear]

This is a test using rich text formatting and html links. It's the generic "company" ad that should appear on all posts with the Company category if they don't have an ad attached to a specific company.

Maybe it is just me, but it seemed like he got his question answered. It wasn't what he wanted to hear, but it was answered with all the information the chat dude had.

Gushing scripted politeness, but behind the facade, total apathy. Someone needs to develop a Wankometer for consumer communications.

*shrug* I didn't get any of the 'total apathy' timmus detected. I saw a pretty professional IM exchange in which the CSR was responsive and honest. With the exception of the intial 'cut and paste' there wasn't even any marketing drivel.
