BP Oil Leak Maybe Not So Bad
A 200 gallon British Petroleum oil spill discovered in Alaska's Prudhoe Bay caused price per gallon to rise past $76 Monday and threaten the shutdown of the nation's largest oil field. However, BP officials intimated they're looking into ways to conduct repairs and checks without disabling the entire operation.
Price at the pump has yet to react to the initial supply disrupt as stocks are "adequate" and the spacer isn't due to impact for several weeks, LAT reported.
So for the time being, keep lighting those cigars with flaming barrels of crude.

I was under the assumption nobody was letting them off, so much as saying the impact of their gross negligence on oil prices might not be as high or horribly sustained.
The best part is their reasoning for not sending the inspection robot through the pipeline- "there was too much sludge".
That's a bit like a mechanic telling you there's too much sludge to see if there's any damage in your engine... so let's just leave it be and hope for the best.

Let's not let BP off so easily. The main leak happened in March, and was at least 240,000 gallons. Criminal charges are pending, both for the idiocy of letting the pipes rust, and for the cover-up.
The photo is of the clean-up of a teensy little spill discovered last Sunday, which they're trying to confuse us with.
