Sony PSP: Racist?
The internets are burning, aflame with outrage over this allegedly racially charged campaign Sony launched in Amsterdam to intro the new white PSP. The argument seems to hinge around that showing a black person and white person together, in combat, is racist. Previously, the PSP was only available in black. We don't particularly find the ad racist, or even that interesting, just another shiny TBWA drop of gloss.
But what do you think? Offensive or inane? More pix after the jump...

here's why this isn't racist. It has nothing to do with establishing one race as better than another. At best, it says that maybe the white psp will kick the black psp's butt, or dominate it sexually, or something. It's about game systems, not people. If it were about people, the copy would read "This white girl is better than this black girl, see?" Once again, lets fight the racism where it exists in real life, and stop making it up where it's convenient to poke at it and burn it under a microscope.
I think that this is racist if you come from a background where black people are looked at as inferior. So, you go, "wow, that white lady's giving it to the black lady! how typical!"
Being American, and taught endlessly that black people have been subjugated for hundreds of years (which is true), I looked at that poster and said, "Whoa."
But maybe if you live somewhere that black people are thought of as like everyone else (as opposed to, say, muslims) you'd be scratching your head.

Inane, two hot chicks fighting each other, sounds more like accurate marketing towards their core audience.
