Saks' Dumpster-Dived Window Displays
Saks has a new window display up on 5th Avenue until this Thursday.
Animal blog reports that a Saks rep said, "we wanted to take ordinary things and make them look high end."
A lofty goal, indeed. Instead of reaching it, however, they've managed to make the dress look like a lazy lamp shade and the bottles of cleaning solution, confused. The only thing that looks good are the light tubes, which, presumably, are not for sale.
Gawker had a few words to say about these as well.

Consumerist, you should do a story on who designs all those window displays. I presume it's a big business with some standout artists in high demand and lots of folks who just pay their cousin who did a semester at Cooper Union to do it.
Or better yet, interview the window designer at Saks. That would be awesome.
