Frivolous and Lawsuits Have New Bed Partner: Useless

Yay! Free money. Clampants got a card in the mail yesterday from the "Benny/Lundberg Settlement" against Sprint, reading:

"You have been identified as a potential member of a Class Action brought by current and former customers of Sprint branded wireless telephone service that will be settling claims."

While he was a Sprint member before switching over to Cingular, Clampants is less than jumping out of his rollie chair to sign up. Possible benefits pending his participation include a $2.50 long-distance card, or a series of eight quarterly credits totaling no more than $7.

If he doesn't want to wait that long, he could also get an immediate credit of $15. However, to do so, he'll have to sign a new two-year contract with Sprint.

This is a test using rich text formatting and html links. It's the generic "company" ad that should appear on all posts with the Company category if they don't have an ad attached to a specific company.

I think these class action mailings ought to be required to note all pertinent terms of the class settlement, especially the amount of money to be paid to the attorneys spearheading the claim. To me, it doesn't really seem like a class member can give informed consent without seeing how much the attorneys are due to make on the claim.
