Yuppie Street Art For Sale

If you're a yuppie and would like to purchase some street cred, literally, head on over to ryanfrank.net. He leaves white plywood board in graffiti hotspots around London, lets it get soaked in tags, then assembles the pieces into "repurposed urban furniture," yours for just a few thousands of dollars.

Diabolical.

Part of us thinks the taggers should get paid. Part of us thinks that this is what the graffiti people get for defacing public property.

But mostly, we think the damn things are stupid and ugly and we don't have the necessary loft space to fit such a honking travesty.

This is for all the trust-fund NYUers who are "slumming it" in a 1500Sq foot apartment on the Lower East Side. They might still be on step-Mommy and Daddy's teet, but they still want to REBEL. It's so STREET, man. Hardcore. So hardcore that they're parents won't ever want to come in from Connecticut to visit them.

damn. THEIR parents.

I wonder if graffiti artists will start using their own feces to paint with in order to prevent this sort of thing.

well not only do we get the pleasure of this prick taking credit for other people's work but we also get to enjoy him selling a few pieces of particle board for what I am sure is an obscene amount of money.

'a fool and his money are soon parted'. Those are ugly.

Yeesh, I wouldn't buy that even if there were a Borf on it.

I wouldn't pay a lot of money for it, but I do think it's rather ingenious of this guy.

And if the shelf design was better, it could be a really good seller.

Hey, and it comes assembled, which is better than ikea...
