Though I've never seen that ad aired, you can't even sell margarine in Germany without sexual references and/or gratuitous nudity.
Whereas US media has plenty of violence but no sex, here the rule tends to be a strict avoidance of violence but plenty of sex.
Not that I'm complaining.
Yeah, if the ad featured the guy capping the girl with his .45 then planting an American flag in the gushing bullet hole while humming "Proud To Be An American", it would probably air during every commercial break.
Heck, PanicRoom, you can't even sell sexual products in the US without a reference to margarine:
