Oh, dear Lord, MBNA's automatic payment system was the bane of my existence a few months ago. Surprisingly, when you pay off the balance on your MBNA account, it continues to deduct your automatic payment until you actually tell it to stop. I learned this the hard way. Apparently it's buried somewhere in super tiny fine print in the user agreement.
