This story gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling. Kind of like during the Fuel Crisis(tm) of the 70′s, when I saw that gasoline tanker that had run out of gas.
Ha. A ha ha. A ha ha ha …
I love it.
Wow. You can’t make that kind of shit up.
I always get my taxes done at The Block, but only because I know a guy there.
But this is pretty effin’ funny.
My state and local taxes with H&R Blocks guarantees and stuff were nearly $200 last year. I’d been paying them because I was lazy.
This year I did the TurboTax online route and it was relatively painless and quick. I didn’t get the audit guarantees and stuff, although they were available.
My only gripe was the advertised price for federal returns with “free” e-filing was $19.95 (state returns available at an additional cost). Turns out the additional cost was $24.95 + tax (no pun intended). I think the off-the-shelf TurboTax would have been cheaper.
