I think this may be more of a fluke than standard procedure. Ussually BB will require the return of any item received free or discount the amoutn refunded by the value of the free item.
Are we sure the card wasn't de-activated?
Come now, guys. Integrity and mutually fair treatment are the reasons for a site like this. If the gift card was tied to a purchase, then it should be returned if the original purchase was returned.
Is there a chance the card was voided, and they simply didn't tell you?
